Home Buying Tips
Buying a home is a big decision. Below is a list of Tehachapi real estate tips that will be useful to you in your home buying process:
- Shop around and interview several real estate agents, don’t just choose the first one that calls you back.
- Take a printed copy of each home listing with you when you go for a showing so you can take notes. And definitely take notes.
- Taking a digital camera isn’t a bad idea either since you will probably mix the houses together in your memory. But, with a handy cam you can take your notes and pictures all at once.
- Make sure your agent is showing you all of the listings in your price range, not just the listings coming out of their office.
- Shop around for your mortgage.
- Don’t buy more house than you can afford.
- When shopping for a mortgage with a 20% down payment… tell the lender you want a 30 year fixed.
- Always make the purchase of the house contingent on the findings of a home inspection.
- When pricing your house to sell, it doesn’t matter how much you or your real estate agent think it’s worth. The market dictates price.
- Ask questions and read everything before signing.
